Braille is not a language. It is a code; there is one for every language, and also ones for music, computers and maths.
A Braille cell holds six raised dots; when there are no dots it is an empty cell, or a space between words or paragraphs, if they are all used it is a full cell, usually a mistake has been made and as you cannot erase braille, they emboss all the dots to remove the possiblilty of it being mistaken for a letter.
The 'w' in the braille alphabet is an afterthought as the letter is not used much in the french language.
